Rare Vintage Nepenthe Apothecary Jar Lidded Urn Chemist Druggist Pharmacist Mint Condition Made in Japan Original Box
Stunning, vintage, apothecary jar "nepenthe" was described in homer's "odyssey" as a drug that banishes grief or trouble from a person's mind. It was later referenced in poe's, the raven. This is both very cool and very disturbing, in my humble opinion. Definitely a great piece, without question. I don't believe this was ever used. The bottom edge shows minor scuffing, but it is still in original box. Great gift idea for the pharmacist or chemist in your life. It has a crackle finish that makes it appear, predominantly, gray with blue, orange, yellow, and green accents. It measures approximately 6 7/8" tall x 4 1/2" across at widest point. Feel free to convo with any questions. Like vintage ties please check out my other shop at. This item is made of porcelain china.
