Imagine all of this work was done by hand 130 years ago and still looks pristine today. This beautiful watch face is powered by elgin's 15 jewel, grade 57 movement, manufactured in 1891, was mechanically restored, including being disassembled, cleaned, and oiled. This watch should run well for many years. This mechanism is housed in an equally pristine, philadelphia case company's ideal grade gold-filled case. It has an engine-turned pattern front and back, and a round cartouche on the rear center for having initials engrave, if you should want to do that.
It would make a fine addition to your collection or a wonderful gift. There is almost no wear on the case despite it being an almost 130-year-old timepiece. Please look at all pictures as they are most of the description.
This watch is running very well, but due to its age may not keep exact time. It should be within a few seconds a day. However, if you have a problem in the first 2 weeks after receiving your watch, send it back to me and i will have it repaired. I have been collecting and enjoying antique pocket watches and vintage wristwatches for over 30 years.I do my own cosmetic cleaning and refurbishing. However, if a watch is not working properly, or the movement needs to be cleaned and oiled, i send it to a professional watchmaker. If you don't see what you like, or are looking for a particular watch, drop me a line and i will try to source one for you. This item is made of gold.
